šŸŒž Happy Summer Solstice!

I hope everyone had a beautiful solstice yesterday.

This year I’m so grateful for my garden — it’s become our favourite sanctuary to slow down and spend time together. We even have a blackbird nest tucked away in it this year, and it’s been so lovely hearing the chicks tweeting away while we leave soaked mealworms out for the mother. We’ve focused on planting for the pollinators too, and it’s been wonderful watching the bees buzzing and the beautiful butterflies happily flying from bloom to bloom. Nature really knows how to celebrate the longest day. šŸšŸŒæšŸ¦šŸ£šŸ¦‹

I always reassess my plans for the year at summer and winter solstice — creating a new vision board and dreaming about the months ahead. What’s really cool is that right now, in the ground we’re cultivating potatoes, cauliflowers, purple carrots, cabbage, onions, parsnips, swede, broccoli, horseradish, and everything else we’ll need to make our Yule feast/Christmas dinner. I’m also freezing fruit from the garden so I can make a pavlova for pudding too. I love that the energy we’re putting in now will reward us then.

Wishing you all a beautiful solstice šŸ’›
