Ghost of Lies by Alice Winters (Medium Trouble #1)

Hiro can see ghosts. He is also determined to stay cheerful about it, even when those ghosts are actively trying to make him look unhinged in front of the hottest, grumpiest detective in the room.

Maddox, the grumpy detective, does not believe in ghosts. Hiro keeps ending up at crime scenes anyway, trying to play it cool while Natalie and the rest of the dead peanut gallery lose their minds.

I flew through this. Hiro is sunshine chaos with a stubborn streak and a huge heart. He talks to the dead like they’re just annoying coworkers, treats grief like something he can still smile through, and somehow makes Maddox’s walls start crumbling without even meaning to. The mystery aspect were great too and it wasn't an obvious answer, it kept me guessing.

Greg Boudreaux on audio is excellent, as always his perfomance brought the characters to life.

It’s funny, a bit twisty, surprisingly tender, and the romance builds in a way that made me grin.
