Ahhh this book was so cute. I loved A Daddy for Cooper! This is the second book in Emory Winters’ Foxwood Hollow series, and it’s pure cozy MM fox shifter goodness with the sweetest Daddy/boy kinky vibes. I read it curled up on the couch on a rainy and thundery day and it was the perfect book for that kind of weather.
Cooper is such a lovable alpha who’s finally ready to be himself, and Patrick is the perfect grumpy-yet-gentle Daddy Dom with a heart of gold. Their connection felt so real and tender with lots of hurt/comfort, cuddle nests and that warm small-town feel where everyone looks out for each other.
The writing is smooth, funny in places, and the spice is the perfect level of heat. I loved how caring they are with each other demonstrated by those little everyday moments that show Patrick’s nurturing side, you see it starting early on, before they’re even together and it’s a wonderful way of watching their love develop.
An early moment that made me smile was when cooper was being his usual low maintenance self, and tells Patrick that he doesn’t need anything when asked.
Patrick decides to spoil Cooper anyway, seeing through his politeness to what he actually needs.
“I entirely ignored his wishes and began heating up milk on the gas stove to make him a hot chocolate… I chopped and melted the best chocolate I had into the milk before topping off his mug with whipped cream and fucking marshmallows.”
Without spilling any spoilers, there is some heart breaking stuff they need to overcome but it’s worth it.
I love a shifter romance, especially with Daddy kink, so this one is an instant favorite. I’ll definitely re read again in the future. 🦊🦊
